But you can think of me as your business bestie. I'm here to help you ditch doubt and take confident action to create a business (and life!) you love.
This week, I had an incredible experience volunteering at the kids’ praise choir camp at my church. Witnessing these young talents fully immersed in their zone of genius was truly inspiring. The kids put on a mesmerizing musical production, complete with choreography and drama, telling the story of Daniel and his friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. What struck me the most was the powerful message woven through the performance – that God is with us in the midst of life’s challenges, just like He was with them in the fiery furnace.
Trusting God is a crucial aspect of our lives, both personally and in our businesses. But sometimes, we find ourselves failing the trust test in various ways. Let’s explore these challenges and discover what we can do instead to embrace trust and faith.
1. Avoidance: The first way we fail the trust test is by avoiding it altogether. We hesitate to step out in faith or risk anything. Instead of participating, we choose to back away, fearing the unknown outcomes.
2. Pulling Back: Another common way we fail the trust test is by getting close to the edge, ready to take a leap of faith, but at the last moment, we pull back. We procrastinate or let fear take over, preventing us from embracing the unknown.
3. Seeking “Cushions”: Lastly, we tend to try to solve every potential problem before we take a leap of faith. While it’s essential to be prepared, obsessing over every worst-case scenario can be paralyzing and a sign that we lack trust.
So, how can we overcome these challenges and truly trust in God’s plan for our lives and businesses?
1. Seek God’s Will: Spend time in prayer and in God’s word, seeking His guidance and growing in spiritual maturity. When we align ourselves with His will, trust becomes more natural.
2. Embrace Discomfort: Recognize that discomfort is part of growth. Instead of shying away from it, lean into discomfort and take that leap of faith. Trust that God is there to catch you, no matter the outcome.
3. Take One Step at a Time: Don’t overanalyze every step. Focus on the present and take one step at a time, trusting that God will guide you in the right direction.
Remember, true trust involves a willingness to fall or fail, knowing that God is there to catch us. Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, we can boldly proclaim that God has the power to rescue us, but even if things don’t go as planned, our faith remains steadfast.
It’s okay to have fears and doubts; we’re only human. But let’s not allow these obstacles to hold us back from embracing trust and faith in our lives. If you ever feel overwhelmed, seek support from someone who can help you understand your fears and offer guidance.
Always remember that you’re not alone in this journey of trust. Let’s lean on God’s wisdom and embrace the beautiful uncertainties of life with a heart full of faith and positivity.
You were created for a purpose. I believe in you!
