But you can think of me as your business bestie. I'm here to help you ditch doubt and take confident action to create a business (and life!) you love.
This weekend, I went to see Ringo and the All-Stars in concert. Yes, that’s Ringo Starr, the legendary drummer from The Beatles. I had no idea what to expect, but when my mom asked me to join her, I couldn’t say no. You see, I’ve been a lifelong Beatles fan, and I remember being a kid and feeling sad that I’d never get to see The Beatles perform live. My mom promised me that if Paul McCartney ever did a concert nearby, she’d take me. It took almost a decade, but during my freshman year of college, she kept her promise. We went to see Paul McCartney, and it was a dream come true.
So when my mom asked if I wanted to see Ringo, my answer was an enthusiastic “yes.” I wasn’t sure if he would sing, but I was excited to be there. The concert turned out to be an incredible experience. Ringo, at 83 years old, looked fantastic. His band, the “all-stars,” comprised of older musicians from prominent bands, was equally amazing. They exuded a passion for what they do, and their performance was top-notch. It was a powerful reminder of how important it is to do what you love and excel at it.
The audience, predominantly older, relished the music, with many standing up, dancing, and singing along. Their faces lit up with youthful energy as they went back in time. It was a heartwarming sight, a reminder that doing what brings joy can light up our lives, no matter our age.
Now, let’s talk about mind drama. Do you ever get caught in the whirlwind of your thoughts, spinning in circles, feeling confused, emotional, frustrated, or anxious? It happens to the best of us. In this blog post, I’m sharing five powerful questions to help you break free from mind drama and move forward with ease. These questions are based on my coaching model, the Extraordinary Life Model, which centers around five outcomes: Purpose, Confidence, Accomplishment, Freedom, and Impact.
1. What’s the Purpose of This?
Whenever you find yourself overwhelmed by mind drama, ask yourself this question. It applies to anything, from big life decisions to the smallest choices. Identifying the purpose can help you eliminate unnecessary confusion and anxiety.
2. If I had Complete Godfidence, What Would I Do?
This question connects you with the confidence that comes from God. Imagine how you’d think, feel, and act if you had complete trust in the Lord’s guidance and your ability to handle challenges. This shifts your focus from reacting to circumstances to acting with faith.
3. What’s the Next Step?
Overthinking can lead to mind drama. When you’re unsure about your next move, simply ask, “What’s the next step?” Focus on that step and create momentum. It’s a practical way to cut through mental clutter and confusion.
4. What Do I Need to Let Go Of or Say No To?
Mind drama often stems from holding onto things that no longer serve you. It could be perfectionism, others’ opinions, or fear. Identify what’s holding you back and give yourself permission to let go.
5. What Impact Do I Want This to Have?
When you find yourself caught in the trap of reacting to circumstances, shift to a proactive mindset by asking about the impact you want to create. This question empowers you to define the result you desire.
Using these five questions can significantly reduce mind drama in your life. But here’s a bonus question for you: “If I didn’t have mind drama about this, what would I do?” It’s a shortcut to quickly refocus your thoughts and actions.
